Apartment Living Bites - Part 23820382
Edited on Sat Mar-05-05 03:03 PM by Darth_Kitten
Honestly.

if people choose to do 3 loads of laundry, in a row, in an apartment, the LEAST they can do is remove their last load of laundry and not hold up the whole floor for hours on end.

Sorry, my saturday afternoon RANT. :eyes:

Edit: I have absolutely no clean clothes and I want to go out later.

1. I HATE living in an apt.
hate it

no privacy

I can hear the couple below me yelling, and I'm sure they can hear me walking on their ceiling.

I cannot wait to buy a house, but the way home prices are going up, I'm a little scared of what I can afford.

Guess I'll be looking for a roommate at some point too...

Anyway, I can relate.

3. Thanks
I emptied out the dryer and left her clothes on top. I could have called the super, but hey, I want to use the dryer once my clothes are finished washing on another floor. Plus, like the weekend staff at this place is going to be of any use? :)

It's embarrassing running around the building in pyjamas looking for another washer to use.

2. Why not take the laundry out of the machine
instead of waiting for them to do it? That's how it goes down in my building.

4. I did that. Only after I had to use a washer upstairs.

:)

Edit: She's got a load in the washer, and on top of the dryer and STILL hasn't done everything about it.
I'm getting this dryer in about 10 minutes, and her wet laundry can get all moldy. :)

7. I caught a "neighbor" in my old condo taking my wash out of the dryer as
it was still running. She was embarrassed that I happened to come in just then when she was opening the door. She "thought" it "looked dry.
That was quite a building!! Glad I'm long gone.

9. I had that happen once...
it was barely 2 minutes (literally) that my laundry had stopped and Mr. Barely Sober was removing my laundry. He said it was in there over 15 minutes. Uh uh, I told him, how dare you touch my stuff and I'm calling management so hands off, buddy.

:silly: I'm going crazeeeeee!!!

6. It's annoying me, because I actually want to get out today....
it's a nice warm day today and I want to get out and catch some rays.

I hate selfishness and inconsideration. And apartment nitwits. :)

8. Ugg, i feel your pain............
This used to happen to me for YEARS......i wound up draggging all of my stuff to the laundromat MANY times just to avoid having to touch someone else's undies to take them out of the dryer.....

I'm paying through the nose, but i now have an apartment with a washer and dryer IN it, and you just helped remind me of WHY i didn't mind moving to such an expensive place... :)

I still need to stop being such a slacker, and get serious about saving for a house or condo downpayment.....(or at least to have a lil nestegg incase i get laid off)....

11. This is why I only live in apartments...
that have washer/dryer connections INSIDE the apartment. I could not take going to the laundry room of an apartment building or hauling stuff to the laundrymat anymore. Guess I'm just spoiled.

BTW, I love my apartment complex. Nice and quiet and no one bothers you. I have a family with a 7 year old and 1 1/2 year old on one side, a family with a 4 year old on the other, and neighbors upstairs change every 8 weeks (a drug rehab program rents out the 2nd floor of our building). Everyone is pretty quiet, and respectful of each other.

Peace,
Bella

13. I live in an apartment, but it's not so bad...
we're on the second floor, then there's one apartment below us, then one in the basement...and we've got our own washing machine and dryer & 4 bedrooms. :P

15. I did 11 Apts in my time
2 places I broke the lease because of intolerable noise. One place I has this neighbor above that would do karaoke at 8 AM. I sometimes would shut off their power to make my point clear. For laundry I got sick of the machine whores So I'd just take it to a laundry mat. I don't get these people who think it's acceptable to blast loud music on a big stereo when you have neighbors above and below you.

Now I'm in a condo and I finally got to build my dream audiophile system & home theater. I put it in a finished basement surrounded by masonry, insulation & drywall. I have neighbor condo's attached and no one has complained yet so I guess the soundproofing is adequate.

17. I feel your pain
I just put a copy of the rules of the building on the door of my neighbor because she never turns off her fucking music...it's that repetitive bass - boom boom boom boom for HOURS! I can't bear it!

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!
