Which Bill Murray movie is the best?
channel 5 (UK) has been showing Bill Murray films all week.

and I got to thinking...which is the best.

I think his best performance was as the eccentric millionaire Herman Blume in 'Rushmore'.

Yeah, you know, a looper, caddy, looper, you know...a jock. So I tell em I'm a pro jock and who do you think they give me...the Dali Llama himself..12th son of the Llama. The flowing robes...the grace...bald....striking. So I'm on the 1st tee with him, hand him the driver, he hauls off and wacks one..big hitter the llama...looong, into a 10,000 ft grevace at the base of this glacier. And do you know what the llama says to me.

"No"

"Gunga la gunga....gunga gunga la gunga. So we finish 18 and he's gonna stiff me. So I say 'Hey llama how about a little somethin, you know, for the effort'. So he says, 'there will be no money, but when you die, on your death bed, you will receive total conciousness'. So I've got that goin for me.....which is nice"

25. Me too.. I think it's the music
and the atmosphere.. It's just perfect, a Wes Anderson trademark scene.

I mean, they could have just put Bill in a normal bathing suit and the scene would have still been good, but they went the extra mile and had him wearing a cheesy Budweiser swim suit! Damn, I'm going to have to break out the DVD again tonight. It's such a great movie.

72. Yes, I like
all her films I've seen.

But I loved Murray's telephone conversation with the police chief, Jason Robards (perfectly cast, too!), musing aloud about what name he would like Robards to call him! "Skip! Yeah, Skip! that's what I want you to call me...", etc.

And of course, the classic scene in the public lavatory at the airport, where the two lads were in the same cubicle, concealing the bank notes, while an old boy washing his hands recoiled in ever greater horror, at what must have been - in the cirumstances -sexual "double entendres". "I'll never come back to this terrible city again", he cursed, or something like that.

Then, on the aeroplane, a bag falls from the rack, above the old boy, onto his head! (only a glancing blow)

but one thing I love about his work is that he's not above getting an uncredited part for fun.

For that, I love his smaller or uncredited roles in Wild Things, and his performance in Tootsie.

For "starring" roles, I love him in Ghostbusters, Caddyshack, Groundhog Day, Stripes and Meatballs.
