Who else here loves Billy Joel?
He's a Dem, man. And he had sex with Christie Brinkley--another staunch Dem--for a while. That makes him okay in my book.

1. Nah, I can't take him. I grew up on Long Island.
There are a lot of things I love about the Island still, but he reminds me of a certain mentality that I want to forget.

I knew some people who knew him too. Too much Syosset/Hicksville. In case you didn't hear that it's Hicksville.

2. ME!!
Best damn concert I ever saw was Billy Joel & Elton John, together, at the Mann Music Center, in Philly. God, that kicked ass!

3. Saw them too, at Madison Square Garden.
I'm right behind you -- they rocked.

I don't care about the abuse, I like 'em both.

I won't say it's the best concert I ever saw, but it was Good! :)

Anyone knocking Billy Joel should go pick up the Piano Man CD and listen to a cut that doesn't get much airplay: "Travelin' Prayer". He may have gotten sappy post-Christie, but his early stuff was solid. And I still love "Allentown"
