Taking care of leather seats in cars

Vegans, please be gentle - our "new" car has leather seats, and I want to take very good care of them - so I need advice.

How often should I clean and condition the seats?

If folding or cracking appears, how easy it it to repair? Or should I take the seats to a professional?

1. Keep them conditioned.

That should halt any cracking. I vacuum them thoroughly, wash with mild soap and water, dry and then use a conditioner about twice a year. No problems so far.
Since they are leather, they will be vunerable to wear spots (like from the seat belts). If I had to repair, I'd take them in, since I know my limitations.

Do not expose the car to extreme sun. If you live in a hot area, get a sun shade for your windshield and use it regularly and tint your windows. This will go a long way toward protecting the leather for many years

I've been using Meguillar products on the seats, but Lexol is a good solid brand, too. I'll keep an eye out.
