2. he didnt show up for court so they issued a warrant for him
SANTA MARIA, California (CNN) -- Michael Jackson was late for his trial Thursday, and the California judge trying the pop superstar's child molestation said he would issue a bench warrant for Jackson's arrest if he did not appear in court within an hour.

6. The judge is a serious stickler for prompness!
That said, he was like 90 minutes late and left 150 of us standing in line while waiting to undergo orientation for the selection.

He's also uber conservative from what I could gather from his pre-selection comments.

4. it's breaking news.
Michael Jackson didn't show up in court this morning claiming a "back problem" and is a "the hospital"

The judge freaked out and gave one hour for Jackson to show up, that was 30 minutes ago. If Jackson doesn't show up he's going to jail and losing his 3 million bail.

9. Why the quotes around hospital?
You say that like Cottage isn't a real hospital. Here's a hint, it is. Just because you don't like a certain black performer doesn't make it not so.

Sigh, the bias on this site by a few posters is getting worse and worse.

are skeptical?

21. "black performer"
You think it has anything to do with his race?

He is uber creepy, and no matter what the defense does to smear the accusers in the media, I still think he is a pedophile.

28. Nice bias there...
so no matter what you think "he is a pedophile."

What ever happened to innocent before guilty? What ever happened to listening to the evidence? You just throw all of that out because you don't like the person. Here's a hint, repukes don't like us. If you do that to someone now, imagine how bad they'll be given the chance.

29. I said "I still think"
based on what I have seen, I think he fucks boys. I think he bribes parents, and spends an inordinate amount of time in the company of pre-adolescent boys so he can fondle them. That is what I believe.

I have seen enough to make me believe he is a deviant

3. He was late for court and if he doesn't show up in an hour,
he'll be arrested. I'm sure he'll show up with some lame excuse that he couldn't tie his shoelaces or his driver got lost or something.

In reality - that kid is testifying again and he doesn't want to have to hear the truth.

God, I hate pedophiles!

5. don't label...
Remember, we're liberals, we believe in "innocent until proven guilty." He hasn't been proven guilty yet. There's a lot of suspicion about the family and their gold digging patterns. Let's just let the evidence play out before we label him a pedophile.

Maybe he didn't show up because, if the child is lieing, it really hurt him to hear these things said. Ever consider that?

12. There ARE wmd's in Iraq!
Logic and reason tell you so! The president wouldn't lie; no one on TV lies. Not about weapons and not about dirty sex.

17. Logic and reason told us there were NO wmds...you're backwards
For example, when the US took over the entire nation of Iraq in three days and there were no WMDs used on US troops, logic tells you that there were none. If there had been, they would have used them.

Likewise, logic tells you that a man who pays $20 million dollars to a boy who accuses him of one of the most lowly, despicable crimes one can commit is desperate to shut him up. He is not "just trying to get it overwith." An innocent man would fight to the death to clear his name, no matter how long it took.

23. wrong...
You're wrong. Michael Jackson paid $20 million dollars to somebody making a devastating and disgusting allegation (which he was never found guilty of) against him. Think about all the info that came out in the first few days of that trial. Undoubtedly the original pay off was a strategy to avoid that sort of thing, whether it be a lie or truth, from becoming public record.

33. That's the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard.
He wasn't found guilty because there was NO TRIAL. He didn't want to go through a trial, according to him, because he didn't want to go through the turmoil of a trial and the amount of money wasn't a whole lot to him.

The accuser's parents had to agree not to say a word about it ever again to anyone. The accuser himself, however, was underage and could not be bound to such an agreement, which is why he is apparently going to testify in this trial. He's now 23 or 24. Michael Jackson will have another fake ailment that day, you can be sure.

Defending pedophiles is really unbecoming.

19. Hum, he does not strike me as a pedophile. Weird but not a child molester
I would say the chance of him being found guilty is very low based on the he said she said case and the reputation of the mother bringing the case. For some reason every rich person this lady meets molests her children.

30. Usually they were molested as children. He wasn't although he didn't
have much of a childhood which I think is why he created Never-land, so he could revert back to the childhood he never had. I really have no idea if he is or is not, it's just a gut feeling. When people are rich a lot of freaks come out of the woodwork to make a buck. So far this trial looks to be on shaky ground but who knows.

34. That's absolutely not true.
"usually they were molested as children" is not the criteria for what makes someone a pedophile. You need to do your homework.

It is fairly obvious, even from what MJ admits that he has a thing for kids

32. What classic symptoms? Please elaborate?
A lot of people like children and enjoy their company but that does not mean they want to have sex with them. Most people who take advantage of children have a lack of self esteem, were molested as children or have pent up sexual desires like those who are very religious. I am certainly no expert so I am open to any new evidence on the subject.

over 10 years. He is a pedophile.

I hope his execution is on pay per view.

14. Actually
what he is is a very wealthy man, who never had a normal life, who as a result is pretty damn weird... and hence a lot of people might see him as an easy mark. The first family 10 years ago made an accusation against Michael Jackson. The second family may have just seen an opportunity to just get rich.

Or Michael is a pedophile.

Both of those are possibilities. And honestly, having lived in Hollywood and known famous people and what they have to deal with in regards to rabid sociopaths, I know the first scenario is more likely than the pedophile scenario.

16. I'm holding my judgement til the end of the trial,
but I have to admit, sleeping with children in the bed does make it look pretty bad for him. I don't care how messed up your childhood was. You don't sleep with other people's kids, unless there's only like one bed in the house. . .

I'd say the pedophile scenario is equally as likely as the extortion scenario.

26. I honestly believe the 1993 case was for real
There is a book out by Jordan Chandler's (the victim) uncle who detailed the case and what Jordan claimed. And he also was the victim of smear tactics from MJ before MJ settled for 20$ million

I feel very strongly that they are telling the truth.

That could be pretty expensive. And land him in jail for the rest of the trial...ouch.
