Car Mechanics- Am I Just Paranoid?
Just went out to warm up the car. I noticed as I was walking toward it that on the underside, a metal bar going from left-to-right between my rear tires is lower (enough for me to have noticed) on the left side than on the right side (not hitting the ground or anything, just- lower). Any ideas? Cause for concern? As you may be able to tell, I am VERY paranoid about my car. Being disabled, it's my only means of transportation, so I try to keep it in top shape. Car runs well, no weird noises/knocks or anything. So, just wondering if this is something normal that I may have not noticed before, or something to check out. Any help would be very greatly appreciated.

1. Any decent mechanic can look under your car in the lot and...
...tell you if it is trouble or not. It likely is the stabilizer bar, and may have come loose from its mount on one side. Why not ask someone to peek at it at a garage or dealer you trust?

2. Well, in general
something like that should be pretty symmetrical, I think. Best have somebody take a look at it.

3. You can tell I'm from New York 'cause....
I got all the way to the end of your post before I realized you weren't suspecting " car mechanics" of having come-out and sabotaged your vehicle while you were sleeping, or whatever. ( I.E. so you would have to pay them to fix it).

I'm not a mechanic... lucky for the general public ... so I will defer judgment.

But it sounds like nothin'.

I'll move eventually.

4. Depends on the car..
some of them have a diagnal stabilizer on the back. It's kind of half-assed, but it works.

As was stated, any decent mechanic can take a quick look and tell you if it's supposed to be that way.

5. Could be a leaf spring....
Leaf springs are typically used in non-independent rear suspension systems and in sport utility vehicles.
