Clinton won't quit peeing in the hall!!
I've tried everything! I even tried rubbing his nose in it - no luck. I guess I should be grateful he's just peeing in the hall now - he was squatting & peeing anywhere he felt like it before... Any ideas?

I guess I should point out that Clinton is my Siamese cat... ;)

2. well
first thing to check is a urinary tract infection, which can cause a cat to pee in odd places.

Does he use a litterbox at other times? You might try putting a litterbox in the hallway for him.

9. No UTI. Tried putting
it in the hall -- still peed on the floor... I'm kinda thinking he might be doing it when he's mad at me, like when I ignore him, etc. -- he thinks he is supposed to have my constant undivided attention. And I think Siamese are known for being hard-headed too. I'm guess I need to start paying more attention to see if there's a pattern.

5. How many cats do you have
and if you don't mind, how clean is the litter box? There are a lot of issues that cause a cat to eliminate improperly. Maybe your cat has territorial issues. If he's anything like my male Siamese, he's highly bossy and territorial.

11. Only him & doesn't matter
if it's just been cleaned or not -- I think it might be the Siamese/stubborn thing...

17. Well Pad Thai is really good about peeing while in the box
but he stands when he pees. So I got these large covered litter boxes and I just wipe off the sides if he stands up inside them.

Maybe he's unhappy for some reason? Assuming he's healthy, could he need company, attention.

Siamese take a lot of attention, and if you don't give it to them, they extract it through bad behavior.

6. ROFLMFAO! That is one damned FUNNY subject line!
I immediately went to it being a quote from his nurse in the hospital, where he is now. Mental image of Bill with his back turned, furtively peeing in the hallway.

LOL!!!!

13. Hehehe, I just couldn't resist...
I still laugh every time my daughter yells something like "Clinton got stuck in the flypaper!" or "Clinton won't quit attacking me" or "Clinton's digging in the garbage again!" -- LOL

7. Ideas
I've had cats but luckily never faced the situation you're in. I've heard that inappropriate peeing like that could be a sign of medical problems, like a bladder infection so get the cat checked first for any medical problems. If there aren't any, it looks like it's a behavioral issue. I find that allexperts.com have good people on board and could probably help you with some ideas.

Good luck to you, your Clinton, and the real Clinton recovering after surgery!

16. The advice the vet gave me
She told me to confine the cat in a room w/ only it's litter box, food and water for about a week. It worked great for my cat Sofie. The problem w/ the cat peeing outside the box is the smell, even though "we" may not smell it, they do and will continually pee in the same area, sorta like marking it's territory.

Good luck!
