Does anyone on here still use emusic?
I used to be a loyal member/subscriber. Then when they started severely limiting the # of downloads I cancelled my membership. I'm thinking about resubscribing, but the thing is that I remember you have to use their download manager, and I remember it put a ton of garbage/spyware, etc. on my computer and really messed it up. Is that still the case? Just curious if things have changed at all with the service.

1. I do
The only bugaboo is that last time I checked, their download manager was not available for Firefox, which has forced me to keep an ancient copy of IE on my Mac. Macs aren't very susceptible to spyware and other such garbage, so I've not had any issues there.

I was kind of put out when they restricted the number of dowloads, but they have some real obscure stuff that I love and that iTunes has never heard of. That's my main reason for keeping my account.

2. That's why I'd want to renew as well...
I like to pay for digital music when I can. But itunes doesn't have a lot of the more obscure stuff and emusic has a great selection of it.

If it doesn't work with firefox then that settles it and I won't use it. I still have IE on my computer but I never, ever use it.

3. I just went over there and evidently, improvements have been made
that I hadn't seen (I never go to the front page, I just log in). There's an option to not use the Download Manager - haven't found out if version 3 works with non-IE browsers.
