13. Yeah, me either.
I found DU in September 2001. Lurked. Started posting in October or November, I think, of 2001. Not sure.

I think I've been a member for nearly two years, though.

So I suppose the only DUers from 2000 would be Skinner and Earl who thought up the site soon after the election was stolen

5. Signed up some time in June of '01
Lurked for a month or so, signed up. Still on the same name -- I just don't post all the time. I spend lots of time reading, and I never find anything new or interesting before I see it posted here, so I lurk a lot even now.

12. That's when I started too, the first
week of March. I'd heard of the Top Ten Conservative Idiots, but had never really paid much attention until I linked from another site. I was immediately hooked, and now I have to be on for at least an hour a day or I get really cranky!

DU is kinda like sex (although it's been a VERY VERY long time since I've had any, lol!), the more you have, the more you want.

I don't even remember how I stumbled upon this site; it was just so nice to know I wasn't alone. If you can believe it, I had never even visited a chatroom...a real neophyte! Now, I probably spend way tooo much time at DU - that's what getting bushwacked will do to you.

27. I don't think you (or any one else) would recognize my last name
And I didn't accumulate many posts then, either.
My previous handle was named after a fictional character from a short sci-fi story I wrote, and the name, "XionCG" was too close to "Zion". Someone (who was later tombstoned) sent me a rather nasty PM concerning zionists and the whole mess in the middle east, so instead of getting into a tizzy with the person, I just switched names.
Sorry to get your hopes up, though.
