Billy Jack yesterday, Great! Billy Jack today, Corny as Hell!
When I was a kid, Billy Jack was one great movie. Watching it 30 years later, I find it one of the corniest movies that I've ever seen.

3. I don't know.

When I first watched it, it seemed wooden and incoherent. I saw it again last year. It was still wooden, the acting still sucked, but I actually enjoyed the story. There iss no accounting for tastes.

4. "when I was a kid"
is the clue. Billy Jack appeals to 12-yr old mentality.

5. Wow
I was just thinking about that film a few days ago - wondering if it held up. Same thing for 'Zabriskie Point'. Both were considered such landmarks in their time. On the other hand, I hated 'Who's Afraid of Virginia Wolff' when I first saw it (I was much too young, and it hit too close to home - literally) but now it's one of my favorite films.

8. I haven't been able to bring myself to watch it again since the '70s
Like you, I was a kid when I saw it originally and thought it was one of the greatest movies ever made. I also thought roller derby was a great sport at the time, so that gives you an idea of what constituted "greatness" for me.

I know there's a DVD of Billy Jack at the library and I've been tempted to watch it again...maybe I'll get it next week and see what I think of it.

9. They used every cliche
available at the time. When it came out I stood in line with 500 kids to see it and loved it, now, no it's time is gone.

12. Pretty corny then, too.
But always good for an unintentional laugh.
