Can we have one little rule here at DU?
When something is "loose," it needs tightening.

When I "lose" something, I can't find it.

ARRGHHHHH!!!!!!

1. By all means, let's concentrate on the important issues such as
misspelling the word lose.

5. No, he's right
That one drives me nuts. Even the brainiacs do that one from time to time, and it makes me want to scream. I can forgive almost any misspelling, but that one is worse than nails on a chalkboard.

6. It's just a big PITA...
All in a really lame attempt to be "trendy."

Like those "abbreviations" kids use also.

Like "I h8 u" and shit like that.

Stupidity is not "fashionable."
Not even among the GOP. :-)

14. The one that really makes me crazy....
I get nuts when I see 'prolly' instead of probably. It forces you to read it that way and inevitably pisses me off!!

8. You can try.
But if teachers cannot stem the tide of the problem at it's source, I'm dubious that a message board will resolve the issue once and for all.

9. I expect to see the "loose" "lose" screwup...
Among the MTV-educated kids and the Rush-educated Freepers.

Not here where supposedly people are smarter than that.

10. It would be nice
if people made an effort. Mistakes happen with most of us, but an effort can be made.

12. I don't want to louse you!!!
Once, a man wrote me a letter that said that.

In all fairness to him, he was a Turkish native... so I can forgive his amusing mistake.
