DUers: How thick is your skin?

Do you become upset when someone disagrees with you? Are you instantly offended when someone says something critical about you religion, state, bodyweight, sexual-orientation, hairstyle, or choice of pet? Do you become instantly enraged by those fuckers who have the FUCKING AUDACITY TO SUGGEST THAT CILANTRO IS SOMETHING OTHER THAN THE KING Of FUCKING SPICES/HERBS!? . . . oops. :shrug:

Or are you the type that shrugs off cutting remarks like so many insignificant fleabites, stoically responding to criticism and flaming until death or tombstoning. Perhaps something in between? We're not extremists here, after all. :P

I'm not hyper reactive to those, but I can be pushed over the edge.

I've opinions on many other issues, but I'm much thicker skinned regarding those.

Personal attacks don't really bother me. I don't use the ignore feature of DU. I could give a fuck what some over zealous dickhead on a message board thinks. Anonymity makes some folks really obnoxious and brave.

Cilantro is alright but not the king of spices.

I don't tend to get into flame-wars, because I'm mainly a lizard. But even when things are heated, I definitely try to respond in an open and respectful way, even if it means I have to wait a bit to post. I have some things I feel strongly about, but I can't see myself ever getting as upset as I sometimes (often?) see here. Honestly, I often see posts that are make me thing "why are you so upset about that?" But I often feel like that IRL, too.

I tend to get infuriated by what chimpy and his gang are doing to America and the world. I'm often too angry about that to get angry at anything else. It works out.

By all the posts linking repubs to the "porn industry", when it really links them to the CABLE and HOTEL chains.

The porn industry as a whole is scared shitless of Bush and worked very hard through the trade assocs for Kerry's campaign.

There was one thread where it was insinuated that the porn industry was a wolf in sheeps clothing that secretly donates to repubs who trash porn.

As someone who faces arrest EVERY DAY for selling a movie, I hate to see the industry portrayed inaccuratly. And there is no reasoning with some DU'ers who hate porn and think it should be censored from our society.

I am really sick of being trashed by both the right and the left, so yeah I'm pretty sensative right now.

and I must say it's quite fun to watch a spectacularly bad video with a group of friends.

Half the time if my wife and I are watching one we get laughing so hard it kills the mood....

It's just sheer hairy hilarity from the 70's.

Edit to add: And the music. Holy shit. 70's porno music is spectacularly bad. Supposedly you can by some of it on CD, but I have yet to find any.

I think everything should open at 9. Then everyone would sleep more and be happier. I swear. :o
