2. my man
Edited on Sun Mar-13-05 03:25 PM by progmom
My man:
Balding
Tall-ish
average
started smooth-heading toward hairy
brown eyes
jeans and t-shirt
funny and intellectual
no booze, no smokes
he cleans the house
boxer briefs
he doesn't much care about cars
my man is well-read, and well-intentioned about fixing things :)
my man is super-sensuous

Since I am really happy with my man, I figured I would just describe what I already have.

83. Good idea - I'll do that too!
Thick blond hair
Not particularly tall or particularly short.
On the thin side but not scrawny. Some muscle, he does aikido.
Pretty friggin' hairy. I like it.
Gorgeous dark blue eyes
A little fashion-conscious in that indie-rock-boy way. Slightly metrosexual. Primps in the mirror way more than I do.
Very funny. Very smart. Studied astrophysics and modern-classical music in college. Still very interested in both fields, lectures me all the time on astronomy and space exploration. (It helps my dad like him. :D)
Half-Canadian. Part Romanian.
Classically trained pianist (very skilled hands )
Cat person. Spoils our furbabies rotten.
Social drinker, smoker (like me)
Slight neat freak (me: big slob. This is our #1 fight issue). Cleans and cooks.
Boxers.
Cars? Huh? Who needs a car where we live? (He used to drive a beatup old Toyota pickup truck for his keyboards, but got rid of it when the parking tickets got to exceed the value of the truck.)
Four years younger than me.
Big ol' Star Wars, X-Files, and Lord of the Rings geek. (Like me.)
Can fix computers and musical instruments.
Treats me with total respect and, I hope, vice versa.
Lefty/Dem/Liberal/Bush-hater

37. I'll play
<<Lots of hair or bald?
hair>>

All that and then some

<<Short or tall?
tall>>

6'2"

<<Thin or built?
either (lean or built, not super-skinny and frankly not-so-much into obese)>>

Lean. I'm a runner.

<<Hairy chest or smooth skin?
no preference, just natural>>

Too much native. No Tom Selleck here but glad it doesn't matter.

<<Blue eyes or brown? (or other)
blue, but doesn't much matter>>

Blue

<<Suit and tie or jeans and t-shirt?
jean and t-shirt>>

Jeans and untucked button down all the way to the collar.

<<Funny guy or serious/intellectual guy?
both>>

You are in luck.

<<Beer and cigarrete man or cigar and whiskey man? (or other)
neither>>

First snag.

<<A man who can cook or a man who will clean?
both (clean if I have to pick though)>>

I am the best cook I know and I left mommie at 17 and can clean up after myself.

<<Boxers or breifs?
boxer briefs>>

On a roll.

<<Truck man or fast car man?
sensible, fuel efficient car man (motorcycles included)>>

I loathe my dependence on a car.

<<A guy who can fix things or one who is well-read?
well-read- I can fix my own stuff.>>

Everything is great. All I have to do is give up one vice.

<<Sensuous or wild?
A man who can follow my lead depending on what I'm in the mood for. ;)>>

OK. You get three times in a row then it is my turn.

Edited on Sun Mar-13-05 02:59 PM by gollygee
because that's the only thing I have a strong preference about.

I could never be happy with a man who didn't have a little body hair. I used to think Orlando Bloom was cute until I saw a photo of him and he had obviously waxed his chest. I don't like that. A little hair is a good thing.

edited - but not too much hair.

True love is when you take the clippers to your man's back to get him ready to go to the water park so he won't scare small children.

"The Wolfman, Mommy!! THE WOLFMAN!!!"

We make jokes about it in this house. Mr. Bouncy says it keeps him warmer in the winter.

39. That's funny.
The sexiest man that I ever met did not have one single thing going towards my "ideal" of youth. He was about 5'4, wore ripped jeans, really long hair and was hairy like a bear. He was a studio drummer who supplemented his income w/ house painting jobs. He could guzzle down a cheap beer and still appreciate a fine wine. And he could quote football stats just as fast as he could quote Shakespeare ( and make a wonderful souffle).
After him, I realized that I had no set type. We are still friends, even though he has met his dream girl and I know that I could count on him if I ever needed anything.

100. Kilts are actually very comfortable to wear
You can go from wild ceilidh dancing in them (without getting too hot) to walking down the street on a cold night (without getting too cold); and if I do say so myself my calves aren't half bad either.

R.E. the accent, has to be the right one; Scots accents are very diverse. I can't abide most accents from the West (Glaswegian is a language all of its own), but an Angus or Highland lilt is divine. Apparently the Inverness accent is the most easily understood of all the British accents.

102. I liked the Glaswegian accent
since I stayed there for 6 weeks to do an intern in the Mitchell Library.

But what is more interesting: What do YOU wear underneath the kilt???? you know, that is the most important question at all ;)

103. Now that would be telling
I do have Scots ancestry but am not technically a true Scot...

What there is down there is a secret - though the right man could probably find out fairly quickly. Suffice it to say that I'm not about to start doing hand-stands whilst wearing a kilt.

99. hey again
does baking or boiling water count? I work as a janitor, so I can clean like a Taz, but at home I do not really see the point (or much of anything else that is buried under all these papers, but at least I know where my keyboard is).
Also,
"...Your hands are sweeter than nut-brown bread when you touch me ...
Nothing else in this song - only your face.
Nothing else here - only your drinking, night gray eyes."

Too mawkish? How about something political?

"A liar lies to the people.
A liar takes the blood of the people
And drinks this blood with a laugh and a lie,
A laugh in his neck,
A lie in his mouth ...

The tongue of a man is tied on this,
On the liar who lies to nations,
The liar who lies to the people.
The tongue of a man is tied on this
And ends: To hell with 'em all
To hell with 'em all ..."

I prefer a tall, jeans and t-shirt guy a little on the chunky side with dark hair and dark eyes. Hairy chest is ok. Funny and intellectual. I don't like heavy drinkers or smokers, but a pot smoker is ok. I don't like men who are into cars or sports. I like a well-read man who is sensuous.

I just described my husband-except for the sensuous part.

Oh, and boxers.

19. My kinda guy
>Lots of hair or bald?

All of the above. Lotsa long hair. Or smooth and bald and kissable. Particularly guys with receding hair that's going grey.

>Short or tall?

Tall. Very tall. I'm 6 ft and like guys taller than me. But I also have a thing for dwarfs.

>Thin or built?

As Courtney Love said: white boy skinny and big black men.

>Hairy chest or smooth skin?

Hair. Lots of it. Particularly hairy shoulders and hairy backs. I like my men to look like monkeys.

>Blue eyes or brown? (or other)

Green.

>Suit and tie or jeans and t-shirt?

Suit and tie.

>Funny guy or serious/intellectual guy?

Both.

>Beer and cigarrete man or cigar and whiskey man? (or other)

Cigarettes and bourbon.

>A man who can cook or a man who will clean?

I'll do the cooking, he does the cleaning. In the words of Neil Young - a man needs a maid.

>Boxers or breifs?

Definitely tight white briefs. I like to rip em off. With my teeth.

>Truck man or fast car man?

Don't care. I'm really not interested in guys' penis substitutes.

>A guy who can fix things or one who is well-read?

Both.

>Sensuous or wild?

Both. A guy I can just touch for hours who'll also throw me against the wall, tear my clothes off and make me his bitch. I'm pretty easy on this one but I do want it ALL.

Khash.

Definitely stocky. I never dated a super-thin guy. Beefy is the way I like 'em. Thick.

I don't really care on hair or bald.

I LOVE furriness, the furrier the better.

As for eye color, I never cared, but I married a green-eyed devil.

Jeans and t-shirt. But suits can be sexy, I guess.

Mmmm, my guy isn't funny in the traditional sense, he's more serious/intellectual. But in a down to earth way, if that makes sense (he's the opposite of a snob).

Cigar and whiskey.

A man who will clean.

How about no boxers, no briefs, no drawers at all?

No preference on vehicle.

How about both can fix things AND well-read?

Sensuous AND wild.

He refuses to cook, takes out the garbage, fixes my computer, and he mows the yard. Likes wines and can discuss them intelligently, former smoker and has no hangups about his cars or any other pseudo-penis stuff.

I've been married to him for ten years on April 1.

30. I'm fickle
If I provided answers to the questions then I'd probably see a guy tomorrow contradicting all of my answers whom I thought was hot as hell. Some tall guys, some short guys. Some dark eyes, some light eyes.

THERE ARE JUST TOO MANY WONDERFUL POSSIBILITIES WITH MEN, I CAN'T COPE.

But broadly speaking:

Lots of hair or bald? Enough to run my fingers through - but must must must be clean.

Short or tall? Either 5'11 - 6'2 or below 5'9

Thin or built? Built, but not with horrendously big muscles.

Hairy chest or smooth skin? Smooth, but not shaved or waxed.

Blue eyes or brown? (or other) Blue, or maybe brown, or maybe green.

Suit and tie or jeans and t-shirt? Suit and tie, but some guys just look hot enough to melt the ice-caps in jeans.

Funny guy or serious/intellectual guy? Intellectual enough to hold a philosophical conversation, but with a wicked sense of humour.

Beer and cigarrete man or cigar and whiskey man? (or other) Cigar and whisky - on second thoughts dump the cigar no smoke please.

A man who can cook or a man who will clean? Will clean, or even better has enough money to employ a cleaner.

Boxers or breifs? Boxers, preferably on the floor already.

Truck man or fast car man? Don't like trucks and couldn't give a damn about cars; just as long as he isn't playing with it all of the time.

A guy who can fix things or one who is well-read? Well-read.

Sensuous or wild? Switching between the two in perfect synchrosis with my mood.

Honestly if they can seduce my brain, the rest is usually pretty good.

My "preferences" are very short hair.

Solid, thick, but not cut, build.

The older i get the more i love hairy chests.

Jeans and tee-shirt as long as they are able to occasionally, COMFORTABLY" wear a suit and tie.

I have a habit of finding either strong and silent and brooding types or piss your pants funny, domineering types. I WANT ONE with both. Thoughtful and funny.

Beer or whiskey as long as they don't mind it is usually a beer, in the bottle, for me.

Nothing better in life than standing in the kitchen together, cooking and cleaning. I don't mind which they prefer as long as we do it together.

I LOVE boxer briefs

Truck man

One who will help me fix things AND talk to me about what they have been reading.

Sensual in doses. Too much and i am off put. I prefer stronger to "wild" Honestly, more important than either is a match where you both "sense" what is right and when.

67. yeah, I feel that way too. Sometimes I think that
it's natural to have a preferance when it comes to personal appearances. But some people become too picky when it comes to the more superficial things. Like someone who would have been a great companion and a wonderful person was passed by because they didn't drive the right car, or wear the right clothes. Everyone is judgemental. Some more than others. We would love to not be judgemental but it is inevitable. Most are done entirely sub-conscoiusly. Thats percisely what a "first-impression" is. We are making an instant judgement of a person based on our personal preferances and life experiances. And its not restricted to people we interact with. We make instant judgements of everyone we see. The only control we have is how we allow those judgements to affect how we act or treat a person. One time, I needed to buy a full buisiness suit, so I dressed in the most ragged and worn out clothes I could find. I started going from store to store. Lost had a great selection. Lost had great prices. My criteria for buying the suit... The first store I went to that a staff-person came over to me with a genuine desire to help me find a nice suit. I finally found a place to get my suit on my 9th store. I was even asked to leave 3 stores before I was asked if I was there to buy anything!!!

Lots of hair or bald?
Hair isn't a big thing for me, so I'm not picky there. If it's long, cool. If it's short, cool. I suppose I do have a slight thing for mop tops. And I do like curly 'dos. I also seem to like beards.

Short or tall?
No preference. I don't have height issues. I've never dated a short guy, but that hasn't been because of avoidance... just never seemed to have a short guy interested in me.

Thin or built?
Errrr... good question. I suppose I don't really care, but I am rather large-boned and muscular even though I am short, so I would probably feel really self-conscious next to a super thin guy.

Hairy chest or smooth skin?
I'm actually not concerned either way.

Blue eyes or brown? (or other)
I can see the beauty in all the colors. Deep brown is very warm and lovely, and green is great, too. Blue is pleasing, and hazel is delightful.

Suit and tie or jeans and t-shirt?
Jeans and t-shirt. I'm very casual. I need a casual guy. Bonus points if the guy goes thrifting with me.

Funny guy or serious/intellectual guy?
Both. I like to laugh and think... usually simultaneously.

Beer and cigarette man or cigar and whiskey man? (or other)
I like beer. No...I really like beer. I've always liked beer. A beer drinking man and I would get along very, very well.

A man who can cook or a man who will clean?
A cooking man. I don't mind cleaning, but I hate preparing chow.

Boxers or briefs?
None! OK, that's not practical. None around the house and whatever's comfy in public.

Truck man or fast car man?
Bus man? Used car man? Bike man? I like the new Toyota Scions. Maybe a sensible used Toyota man if a driver, public transporter if an urban guy.

A guy who can fix things or one who is well-read?
Hmmmm.... well-read.

Sensuous or wild?
I like an amalgam of sensual geekiness with a hint of utter nerdery and a penchance for hanging out.

edited for sp.

87. Well.....
Lots of hair or bald?

Either way can be attractive, but I do admit an observable fascination for dark haired men with beards.

Short or tall?

Height is irrelevant to me. Character is important.

Thin or built?

I've seen fellas both ways and thought they were attractive, and also both ways which did nothing for me. It's more a matter of confidence and grace of movement, it's a total package thing.

Hairy chest or smooth skin?

Either way, really. I enjoy a fuzzy dude, but I also can admire the smooth as a baby's backside variety.

Blue eyes or brown? (or other)

Just the colour of stones under water.

Suit and tie or jeans and t-shirt?

No thanks.

Funny guy or serious/intellectual guy?

If he can't be both at turns he really isn't for me.

Beer and cigarrete man or cigar and whiskey man? (or other)

I grew up in a wine and olives family. I'm not sure I think this relevant to attraction in any way, but I am acquainted with far more beer and cigarette types than cigar and fine scotch sorts.

A man who can cook or a man who will clean?

Not relevant.

Boxers or breifs?

No thanks.

Truck man or fast car man?

Fast car.

A guy who can fix things or one who is well-read?

Most of the dudes I know can do both. Actually, so can I.

Sensuous or wild?

Intense.

114. Hmmm.
Lots of hair or bald? Don't do the bald thing, but other than that, don't care about hair.
Short or tall? Just tall enough to where my head fits perfectly under his chin.
Thin or built? I like someone that I can grab onto, not someone that when I hug him I say "Where'd you go??"
Hairy chest or smooth skin? Prefer smooth, but some guys can pull off the hair. :)
Blue eyes or brown? (or other)? Blue, but it really doesn't matter.
Suit and tie or jeans and t-shirt? jean, t-shirt, and flip flops. :)
Funny guy or serious/intellectual guy? An intellectual guy with a sense of humor.
Beer and cigarrete man or cigar and whiskey man? (or other) Beer and cigarrette man.
A man who can cook or a man who will clean? A man who can cook but doesn't mind cleaning. Sucks to have to clean all by yourself.
Boxers or breifs? Boxer briefs.
Truck man or fast car man? Fast car man.
A guy who can fix things or one who is well-read? A well-read man that can fix things. :)
Sensuous or wild? A sensuous man with a wild side. Every night doesn't have to be a new adventure, but I don't want to take the same trip each time. :)
