Why is there no Beatles music listed in online music services?
I subscribe to Napster, iTunes and on an experimental basis MusicNet. None of these services have any Beatles music. I am willing to pay .99 per song for a lot of classic Beatles hits. I'm sure many other people would too. I am still boycotting CD's, as I have since the RIAA announced their lawsuits almost 2 years ago. I am wondering why it is that their record company has not been able, or willing, to cut a deal with the online download services.

1. Ask Yoko. I don't think it's the record company.

I just think that nothing happens w/anything Beatles until she figures out how to make the most $$$$$ from it.

5. No kidding.
Hopefully they'll be bought by someone who won't be so tight fisted with them.

They're not on iTunes but they're on every TV commercial known to man hawking some product.

Disgusting.

6. Yoko does not
have any control over most of their songbook. But she does play a role in the release of a lot of the formerly "bootleg" material released in recent years .... both Beatles and post-Beatles. I found the "John Lennon - Acoustic" CD to be disappointing, as so much of it was already on previous Yoko releases.

I've got over 150 Beatle/ post Beatle albums and CDs. I've long wanted a copy of John playing "Help" on acoustic guitar, slower than the electric version. If anyone has a copy, and would like to make me happy .....

7. Give Jacko a little time
He may consider selling the rights in order to raise some mad cash for his legal woes...

10. Wacko Jacko does not own the songs themselves
Jackson owns the PUBLISHING RIGHTS. That is why you hear so many Beatles' covers used in commercials not the actual Beatles songs themselves. When NIKE tried to use Revoloution in a commerical Apple fell on them from a GREAT height.

8. Perhaps it's artificial propping up through artificial scarcity.
It's supposed to be special or something.

Nice try.

Score one for Oasis.

11. I read a few months ago
that Paul and Ringo were hammering out a deal to offer their Beatles and solo music online. I don't know when it will happen, but I think it involves iTunes.
