Poll question: Of the last 10 Heisman Trophy Winners who was the best?
Edited on Tue Oct-14-03 04:07 AM by VermontDem2004
Ricky gets my vote, the all time collegiate rushing leader makes my choice a no-brainer. I also watched the game in which he broke Dorsett's record and the record breaking run was absolutely amazing.

1. heisman trophy vote
Gotta vote for Danny Wuerffel, he is a distant cousin. What my Mom would call a shoestring relation.

3. Welcome Fitzovich!
I'm anything but a Gator fan, but welcome to DU. I love the Union Yes avatar.

Got to admit Danny Weurffel threw a terrific pass for college ball, plenty of arch and always in stride. My 'Canes were extremely fortunate to avoid the Gators for that span in the '90s. They would have chomped our ass.

2. Interestingly, 4 national champs and all start with "W"
Ward, Weurffel, Woodson and Weinke.

Although Weinke won the national title in '99, one year before his Heisman and the Orange Bowl loss to Oklahoma.

I voted for Charlie Ward. Purely a college player, admittedly, but during his senior season I think he was the most dangerous player my 'Canes have faced in Miami's great run from '83 to present.

6. Has to be Ricky--does anyone even remember the others????
Still too soon to tell about Carson Palmer--he might be the real thing, since he was the ONLY thing USC had last year, and they ended up with a pretty good season.

8. Okay, who the f@$* picked Danny Wuerfell?!?!?!?!?!?
Danny Woeful! Horrible, horrible.

Out of these, Ricky is the obvious choice.
