Hating the Yankees is the most American thing you can do - you've got a lot of company from coast to coast.

Go Sox!

3. Admit it--the ACLS Series is anyone's right now
Boston can lose at home and win two in a row at Satan's Lair--it's been done during the regular season.

And NY can lose today and still win two at home.

I know nothing, but I think we're going seven games.

5. I think you're right.
It's going to 7 games.... but I'm basing that theory on the Sox winning today, and losing game 6.

I think the Sox can take one in NY, but not two.

7. I think they've done better in series at NY than at Boston
during the regular season. I think the last series was in NY--Boston took the first two out of three.

But I'll take a Red Sox victory any way I can get it!

12. Wells HATES Fenway
He has been hammered here more than once. I just hope the Sox bats wake up-Ortiz, Nomah, Mullar and Mueller have been pretty quiet.

I think they need to have Nomah bunt-they can't always count on his power, obviously.

9. The Shadows May Hurt the Outfielders/Batters
It's pretty sunny here today, but the forecast is for increasing clouds. If it remains sunny, it could help the pitchers immensely and keep the scoring low once again. And it could definitely hurt the outfielders.

13. What direction does Fenway face?
From Home plate to Centerfield. I looked for a map to include but I couldn't find one with direction on it.

Is a NW wind blowing out? In? Left to Right?

Right now, there is a seabreeze where I am-I can smell it-so there will be one at Fenway, blowing in. Currently, my weatherbug says 65 degrees and winds from the SSE. We'll see at gametime.

I cannot FUCKING BELIEVE I am not in Boston for this.

Fun scenario: They win tonight, and I am landing in Boston at 4:30 tomorrow. By the time I clear customs and get a cab, a good portion of the game will be over. We win the thing, and I miss it completely.

Worse scenario: They lose tonight. I am landing in Boston at 4:30 tomorrow. By the time I clear customs and get a cab, a good portion of the game will be over. I will be dying in line, wondering.

I think I can wastch the game tonight, though. The Sky TV guide thing says its on. Ahhhh...

Go Sox. Zimmer had it coming. Bunch of the other Yankees are gonna be in court, no matter who wins. Pin stripes to prison stripes, just like Al Capone.

Yankees might face assault charges
ESPN.com

October 14 2003

http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/playoffs2003/news/story?id=1637683

BOSTON -- Boston authorities investigating Saturday's bullpen fight during Game 3 of the ALCS reportedly will seek summonses Tuesday in order to charge Yankees Jeff Nelson and Karim Garcia with assault and battery.

The Washington Post, citing two sources familiar with the case, reported the story in its Tuesday editions.

Detective William Dunn and officer Michael Pankievich will go before a clerk magistrate in Roxbury District Court and present their evidence, according to The Post's report. If the summonses are granted based on that evidence, Nelson and Garcia might be charged in an attack on Red Sox grounds crew worker Paul Williams.

A copy of the police report, which was posted on The Boston Globe's Web site, stated that Nelson "was observed pushing/grabbing the victim in the chest area at which time both parties fell to the ground where Jeff Nelson began punching and flaring his legs at the victim." The report also stated that several other members of the Yankees bullpen "jumped on the victim," and right fielder Garcia jumped the outfield wall, entered the bullpen and began "striking down at the victim with his left hand."

Zimmer got dropped like third period French because he went for Pedro Martinez's face. He got off light; I don't care how old you are, if you go for my eyes, your arm is broken. Pedro took care of business with exactly the level of respect shown to Zimmer that Zimmer had shown to Pedro by trying to punch him in the face. More, actually.

Buncha Yankees gang-stomped a Fenway groundskeeper. It was several against one. Punk-ass fuckers. I kinda hope the Yankess do win this series. It'll be fun watching them handle the Cubs while half the pitching staff gets indicted for gang-assaulting a lone groundskeeper whose connection to the unfolding game that night was the grass it was being played on. These Yankees couldn't get to Pedro, so they stomped on some poor slob instead.

Punk-ass fuckers.

and 5 out of 6 days.

I praying for the Cubbies to win anyway. If they go to 7 games things could start to get a little "tight" on the Northside, that would be disasterous (happy thoughts happy thoughts).

Do you think they'd send Wakefield out with 2 days rest if Burkett was struggling? They will definitely exhaust the bullpen, and that is where the Yanks have the advantage.

Pedro will be available for game 7. Knuckleballers like Wakefield can jsut about pitch every day and as far as coming out of the bullpen in Game 7, anyone whose arm is still attached should be ready for the call.

21. Must read article on Cry Baby Mussina
We heard SO much of this in Baltimore, if only the author had asked for material, he could have written a thesis.

http://sports.yahoo.com/top/news?slug=usatoday-mussinadevelopingdubiou&prov=usatoday&type=lgns

He stood there in his catatonic state, the last Yankee standing in the losing Fenway Park clubhouse, assigning blame to teammates no longer there...Once again, Mussina was proving that the A in his ALCS doesn't stand for accountability... This was worse than Mussina's postgame act last week, when he talked of a small strike zone, lousy luck, and seven days of rest, relaxation and rust... Is there some unwritten ordinance preventing Mussina from shutting down the Red Sox the way Wakefield shut down the Yanks, knuckleballing them into oblivion. Mussina said his stuff was "about as good as I've got." He's got to find some way, any way, to win these games. Whatever it is, they apparently don't teach it at Stanford...With the bases loaded and one out, Mussina was charged to get a pinch hitter, Jason Varitek, who had gone 2-for-36 against him with 17 strikeouts...Joe Torre saw the Sunday rainout as cause to bump David Wells for Mussina. Wells can pitch on a rest of two days or two months; Mussina wants to take his ball and go home every time he doesn't get to work on Day No. 5... Mussina took him up on it, then complained at his first news conference that too many flashbulbs were exploding in his eyes... Only Mussina couldn't win a World Series game in two cracks at the Diamondbacks. He broke down against the Angels in last year's Division Series. He couldn't beat Johan Santana and friends in Game 1 of this year's Minnesota series. He couldn't beat Wakefield in Game 1 at the Stadium...So Mussina finished Monday night with a 2-4 playoff record as a Yankee and a no-decision in that Anaheim Game 3 that was as much a defeat as any no-decision has ever been. At $88.5 million, that's not what George Steinbrenner bargained for. These failures beg questions about the big-name, big-bucks pitcher who's never been a 20-game winner...

it was all one word answers for the most part, or quick brush offs.

How do you feel? Frustrated

why is Walker having such success? I dont know

What pitches were they hitting out? fastball

He sounded like a guy who hated playing either in NY or in the Postseason, It wasnt the usual "make sure I sound solemn" schtick that these guys do.

"they seem to do better without me pitching so I will give the ball to Petitte and we will win the series" flat monotone with a hint of anger.

I am slumming in TV Land today. Can't listen to McCarver more than three hours a month. Ears bleeding.

And I havent heard him yet. Rumors in the NY press say Wells "tweaked a groin" on saturdays event. He says no problem. We shall see.

Walker is in for The Sox, no more defensive line ups. Good call Grady.

The FAUXSports announcers suck. I listen to WEEI and mute the TV. The problem is the delay-I know what's coming before it happens on the TV! Joe and Jerry make me nervous too. They scream when it's a fly ball.

I'm going to a bar this afternoon and will bring my headphones.

I get so nervous watching on TV, in the stands you cant see the pitching as close so you can't obsess about every call. Its much more relaxing to me.

I'll be watching here with the brood until the Mrs. Gets through the frantic snarl of Boston drivers racing home to the televisions.

He and Ortiz have not been hitting. If both of those guys start making solid contact it will be over for the yanks.

I also feel that both Lowe and Wells will have great games since they both do well in Fenway.

This should be a good one.
