Police Nab Vicious Crow by Getting It Drunk

BERLIN (Reuters) - German police apprehended a vicious crow which was attacking passers-by by getting it drunk on bait laced with alcohol, authorities said Monday.

The bird eluded its captors after attacking a woman and a young girl at the weekend until cat food soaked in high-alcohol fruit schnapps proved too tempting to resist.

"The crow was completely smashed," said a spokesman for police in the western city of Dortmund.

US media doesn't seem to pick up German news unless there are animals in it.
And Germans like to think that they're animal-friendly, even including animal-protection in the constitution (IMHO a few other things are more important, like getting children-friendly).

Fought back with a gardenhose. They haven't come back yet. (Although our cat always lurks around up there, too.)

7. I had to hose an ever-growing flock of pigeons off the guest house

and back yard tree. They were lurking for the dog food...

3 days of hose attacks got rid of the problem.

they've also taken over downtown sacramento. you can see them coming back downtown about 5:30 every night in huge flocks, and they are messy as hell!

We had a flock of blackbird get drunk on some overripe grapes once in the backyard. They could barely fly.
