I'm done

My life has been in a holding pattern - circling but never landing. I'm done. I'm done waiting for something to happen. I'm done being passive. I'm done holding.

I have not been unhappy for the last year and a half. That's part of the problem. I don't want to tempt fate, but life doesn't seem to be able to get me down.

Still, I want more. I want to drink deep. Eat every morsel. Savour every minute.

It's no longer enough to just live a life. I want significance. I want to leave footprints and a trail.

...The thing about holding patterns is that they are temporary. You have two choices. Land or crash. I'm not going to see how long my fuel will last. I'm going to look for a clearing and land.

Mostly, I'm just tired of circling. I want progress.

Footprints will be re-covered by the passage of time. As will the trail.

We are all matter. Just animate matter. Landing or crashing, we still end up on the same place.

I agree with you - fly like an Eagle and enjoy our ephemeral existence on this sad planet. Drink, eat, be merry, do it all. The concept of ceremony is only an unproductive mis-usage of Time.

Mother Nature cheated on Father Time with Cousin Entropy. Their love child was Professor Murphy, who did nothing except to perfect one law and one law only... Murphy's Law. That just goes to show how we make life so pointlessly arcane.

The hippies were right, even if some of them decided to give up. Yet without technology, some of us would never have survived. And that is the most irony of them all.

I always wanted to race horses. 2 1/2 yrs ago I got into the business. There are days that are really bad. One of your horses is injured. A big race comes up and your horse gets sick. A broodmare aborts 7 months into a pregnancy. Shit like that. Then there are the great days when everything comes together. But, no matter what, good or bad, I feel like I'm alive and it's a rush.

Damn it, enjoy yourself.
