Were you hiking uphill from Adirondack Loj on Saturday October 9?

I'm from the flatlands of Illinois, but I like to hike in the mountains. I spent the week leading up to October 9 backpacking in the Adirondack mountains of upstate New York.

Apparently that weekend is some kind of Canadian holiday, because as my hiking partner and I were coming down the mountain, hundreds of hikers were on their way up -- most of them French Canadians.

Were you among them?
