Republicans = White Russians. Discuss.
I've been reading quite a bit of Russian history lately, and I can't help but draw parallels between today's Bush Republicans and the Czarist Russians.

And look what it took to wrestle power from them.

The Whites were hopelessly disorganized and had only a small fraction of the public on their side.

7. Me too...
Many of the "Whites" were reformists in light of the Bolsheviks. Nicholas's best PM, Peter Stolypin, was so good at land reform that the Bolsheviks feared him and had him killed. I can't see the parallel.
