I tried to cook, and stunk up my apartment and hallway
First I forgot that I had tossed some dirty dishes in the oven last week when I had company, but the smell of burning plastic finally clued me in. Then I microwaved some salmon stuffed sole I had just bought at QFC (in Cap Hill at Broadway Market for Seattle folks, be careful!) and it was some bad fish, tasted awful, that one bite messed up my stomach, and cooking it stunk up the place something awful, blending oh so nauseatingly with the burnt plastic. I hope my neighbors don't suspect it was me, I have my windows open and the hallway smells worse than my kitchen right now. Now I have to buy a new oven rack, guess they sell those somewhere, I hope?

2. Never buy prestuffed fish.
And for God sake don't microwave it if you do. Did you check the internal temp before you ate it? I believe 170 degrees it the lower limit on fish stuffing.

3. my kitchen is minimal, but now I think a thermometer is on my list but
I think it was just bad fish, it had that strong "fishy" smell, I hesitated before I took a bite, but it wasn't that strong with the plastic smell saturating the air. Now my microwave stinks, I think vinegar will get the rank out. at least my cat didn't go nuts like she usually does when I have fish, she's wiser than me!

4. LOL. New rule of thumb. Always run your fish by the cat first.
Thanks. I never thought of that.

5. You haven't a clue
Do not ever try to cook again until you have watched The Food Network 20 hours a week for the next four years.

That's good advice!

B-)
