Pity my son. His mother has discovered the convenience of nagging by text message. Have you brushed your teeth? Fed the cat? Are you wearing a warm jacket?

It's far less embarrasing for a teenager to get a text from mummy saying something like "I'll be there to collect you in half an hour" than a telephone call which is obvious to everybody around them.
