Hot Spicy Crawfish, Ice Cold Beer and Good Friends
What a great Thursday evening it has been. I'll slink off to the French Quarter in the morning to get my wife an anniversary present and probably will have to swing by the Tropical Isle and have a cold one before heading home. New Orleans, a wonderful blue city in a red state.

The French Quarter Festival 8-10 April. Just about the finest gaggle of the year in the city of fine gaggles; great food, great music and exposed breasts when the sun goes down. Let the good times roll.

3. Hi there BOSSHOG! Happy St. Patrick's day!
Have a cold one for me when you visit the Big Easy!

How are your pink flamingos doing? Mine are wishing for spring to be here soon!

Enjoy the festival. It sounds like a great time!

4. Hello Cotton Bear
Edited on Thu Mar-17-05 07:50 PM by BOSSHOG
and a fine St Patty's Day to you. The Flamingos are happy buckaroos year round. The shop I told you about with the wooden stuff is "Tropical Reflections" right off Jackson Square. We went there last week and got a purple Iris to add to our fire place collection along with a small Heron. I just can't go too long without a visit to the Quarter; so thankyou for another excuse to head that way. I'll toast you and your family's good health about 2:00 PM your time tomorrow afternoon from the balcony of the Tropical Isle. I hope Spring comes quickly for your Flamingos.

On edit: I got a 72 quart pot to put three hydrangeas in. I'm putting it on the north side of the house in front of our garage. I'm hoping that will be a nice touch. It may be a reason to get another flamingo to stand guard.

7. What kind of Hydrangea?
I love the native Oakleaf. However, I'm also partial to the blue and purple kind as well as the Snowball variety.

11. Macrophylla Large Leaf
I have them blooming Pink. I have them planted in a fairly shady spot but they did quite well last year. They are not too tricky when it comes to pruning. The oakleafs are quite nice but I don't see too many of those. My in-laws live in North Kansas and there are tons of Hydrangeas up against old homes in their little town. The Azaleas are really showing nicely in New Orleans now but we are about a week behind. Its amazing what 20 miles north will do to a plants cycle.
