Me toast to ya fellow DUers!!!
Edited on Thu Mar-17-05 08:10 PM by Lady Freedom
Ah St. Patrick's Day! The day we can all believe in the fairy king and dream of what we find at the end of the rainbow. A day we can believe in everything! Even ourselves! So lift your drink and join me in a toast!

Here's to the land of the Shamrock so green,
Here's to each Lad and his darlin Colleen,
Here's to the ones we love dearest and most.
May God bless ole Ireland, that's and Irish mans toast.

2. Alas, we must celebrate this Saint Pat's at home...
...as the missus and I are both under the weather. But we'll toast your health nonetheless!

5. Musical interlude: dedicated to my father
Edited on Thu Mar-17-05 08:45 PM by Jack Rabbit

He reaches for his guitar and sings like a sick horse.

O, Danny (G)Boy, the pipes, the pipes are (C)calling
From (D7)glen to (G)glen and (Em)down the mountainside.
The summer's (G)gone and all the leaves are (C)falling
It's you, it's (G)you must (D7)go while I must (G)bide.

But (D7)come ye (G)back when (C)summer's in the (G)meadow
Or (D7)when the (Em)valley's (C)hushed and (D7)white with snow
I'll be (G)there in (C)sunshine or in (G)shadow
O, (G)Danny Boy, O, (Em)Danny Boy, I (D7)love you (G)so.

And when ye come and all the flowers are dying,
If I'm dead, and dead I well may be,
You'll come and find the place where I am lying
And kneel and say an Ave there for me.

And I shall hear, 'though soft you tread above me
And my grave will warm and sweeter be
And if you bend and tell me that you love me
Then I will sleep in peace 'til you come to me.
