11. You have no idea how this affects us in red state 'merika
I used to drive 55 miles each way to work, and that is not uncommon. Back then gas was .98 Lots of families are already hurting from the price of gas.

31. not everyone gets to live where mass transit is an option
I can drive 6 miles to work, in about 15 minutes, or I can walk 2.5 miles to a bus stop, and get to work in an hour, if I get the bus as I arrive at the stop.

Mrs. Ruffian drives 25 miles over rural roads (could drive 23, over part interstate, but too often traffic jammed)

Thanks for the sentiment. And thanks for the concern for the folks that can't afford the gasoline the way I can. :eyes:

10. The Liberty gas station in Flower Hill is $2.07 today
Edited on Thu Mar-17-05 08:30 PM by LiberalEsto
I don't even want to THINK about what the Exxons are charging.

One of my daughters commutes a 50-mile roundtrip weekdays to College Park, MD for classes. If this gets worse, it might be cheaper to put her in a dorm.

21. The $1.93 was at a Liberty station also.
What is a Liberty station. I had not seen them until a couple of weeks ago. It just opened. Are the only station here Exxon?

I have seen a couple of offbrands. Royal Farms, etc.

Any Sunoco, BP, Shell, etc?

42. Liberty -- I'm not sure
but I think it might be a consortium of independent stations that purchase gas as a group. A lot of them used to be Amocos. We've had them in Montgomery County for about 2 years.

In Maryland, FreeState Gas usually is the cheapest, but there aren't any near us.

9. Depending on the city
If you are in a so called rich neighborhood it was at $2.39 per today. Two stations across the street from each other were both at this price. BP and Sinclair.

24. Up to 2.079 - 2.099 around here.
It's unusual for us (Boise) to be lower than Minnesota. My parents, siblings and in-laws are scattered around the Twin Cities and parts northwest of there, and we almost always pay more for gas than they do.

This is really going to put a strain on our summer vacation budget.

49. I reckon $5.95 per gallon over in the UK at the moment.......
83p per litre on average.
$1.90 per £1 (approx)
3.785412 litres per US gallon.

3.785412*0.83*1.9 = $5.95 approx.

I drive over 500 miles each week.

Can you see why my car only has a 1.3 litre engine?
