Dammit, it's gonna be one of those nights.
Ever get leg cramps in the wee hours of the morning? The kind that makes you (try to) shoot straight up out of bed, hoping you can relieve the pain by walking it off before the muscle rips loose from the bone? The kind that a double dose of industrial strength muscle relaxer won't come close to touching?

I can feel it coming on. I'm staying up all night.

Damn, middle age sucks sometimes.

:hurts:

1. Try heartburn.
Now that's a way to ruin a night.

2. One-upping me in my own self-pity thread?
Now that hurts.

But not as much as my legs.

4. Ouch. I'm sorry, I've just realised how self-centred that seemed.
(I almost said "cold-hearted". That would not have been funny.)

My apologies. Cramps. I get them in my feet in the morning sometimes and they are agonising, but for me pass quickly. I sympathise.

3. Eat a banana every day
that may help you get rid of the leg cramps. Seriously.

5. It's brought on by
standing too long on arthritic legs-- I was working in a pre-school this afternoon, where the tables are way too low, and real chairs nonexistent (I'm 6'4" tall). I had to keep getting down onto the floor and crawling under the tables (I repair computers).

I'm old and feeble. Wah.

6. Flex your leg muscle....
Edited on Thu Mar-17-05 09:31 PM by tjdee
I used to get those, in my calves. I found if I flexed the muscle, like I was on a horse, heels down toes up, it helped.

Is that what a charley horse is?

7. Oh, they're the worst.
I got them a lot when I was pregnant. I still get them occasionally. It really does feel like your muscle is ripping in half.

8. Feh, middle age
I'm getting close to 50, and I sleep like a baby.

Wake up every hour, pee, and cry :bounce:

10. A doctor once told my husband...
to keep a large metal spoon on his night stand, when cramps come in the night put it on them the cold will help alleviate the pain.
