Favorite Irish curse?
Mine is "May you melt off the earth like snow off a ditch." I read that in "The Book of Irish Curses," which I picked up at Wichita State University, my alma mater, a zillion years ago and which seems to be out of print now.

May there be a baby in your cradle every year

And may you die in Ireland.

Once, many years ago, when I worked in a mail room, we were unale to keep a pen or a pencil by the pad where one recorded how many copies one made or how much postage one used.

We taped the above (once considered an Irish blessing) to the pencil and it never again went missing.

The second one about the baby in the cradle every year scared everyone off. }(
