4. That's what I've always thought.
People used to sing it at demos against Margaret Thatcher in the 80's - that was their interpretation.

It's about a worker who been treated like crap by his employer and is quitting his job.

8. I had always heard
that "Maggie" is Joan Baez and that the song records both their break-up and the fact that Dylan was refusing to be pigeonholed as a folkie anymore.
