it is my 40th ... and, while today is "day 1" of the celebration ... it's been good so far

( I adopt the "octave" approach to birthdays ... 8 days of celebration ...)

17. i just turned 40 ....

and ... so .. am 5 days older than when this was taken ...
(I'd upload the pics from tonight but .. uhm .. probably couldn't figure that out right now, so this'll have to do)

And, for the record, I'm EXCITED about turning 40, cause all my women-friends who are 50 tell me that this *is* the decade. We'll see (and, of course, I'll report back often :)

22. that's what was hard for me

when I turned 40. I realized I would never have children. Like you, I'm an aunt. That's pretty cool. I'm 43 now and just started getting hot flashes. I hope it takes longer for you to get them.
