So they now have exploding capsules in beer...
Edited on Fri Mar-18-05 04:39 AM by Dookus
I bought something called Boddingtons ale today. When I popped it open, there was more than the usual "pop" and there was obviously something clanking around inside the can. Of course, my first thought was "dead mouse" but my friend informed me that now they have CO2 "capsules" inside some beer cans that carbonate the beer upon being opened. He says Guinness now has the same thing.

So was he right, or am I drinking mouse-corpse beer?

2. Guiness has had that for years in their cans. I didn't know it had spread
to other brands though.

3. I remember something like that from the UK
"Draught System" cans. Started in the 80s, the CO2 thing is somewhat newer (late 90s or so).
Frankly I don't see the point. It is not like Guiness ordered on tap is known for it's bubbles.

So maybe you had a widget in your can, or maybe it was a mouse.

4. Ah, but it is know for its bubbles.
Its just that, in a proper pour, their mostly gone as visible bubbles by the time it's served to you. Watch the barman more closely next time at someplace where they know how to pour.
