Anyone been an intern before?
I just got an internship today, and it's a really good one IMO. It's right up my alley (marketing position), the project I'd be doing is fascinating, I'd have free reign to work as I wanted, and the people are great. It's nice to know that I won't be the office bitch. The only down side is that the pay is crap. I wasn't expecting much to begin with . . . but I was hoping for more. x(

How much did they pay you, if anything? I'm interested in a little comparison to see whether I should be more or less happy. :silly:

1. I had one for a semester ...
My pay was 1,300 a month - not bad. It was with state government, so that might be why the pay was pretty decent.

3. Don't worry ...
As they say, it's the experience, not the money. If your internship is in the private sector, then pay is expected to be lower. I hope you enjoy it! :hi:

19. Hell yeah it does.
And one of the best things about this is they're hiring me for a specific project that I KNOW I can handle. I'll have verifiable results of exactly what I did and how I performed. That's the kind of stuff you really need on a good business resume.

13. I had an internship with the St. Paul Police dept and got paid nothing.
20 hours a week, but I got to shoot guns at the range and ride along with the juvenile unit and coordinate community events all summer. It was a lot of fun.
