Who else cannot stomach Katherine Lanpher (Al Franken's co-host)
I find her voice so grating. We are talking "nails on the blackboard" folks! When she talks, she sounds so phoney....trying to be humorous.

So what do you think?

2. I haven't heard her on AAR
But listened to her program daily when she had a gig on MPR. She was fine.

5. I think she's WONDERFUL!
She is a professional - knows her stuff - and keeps Al from wandering off to never-never land ....

6. I like her a lot, though I kinda think her laugh is forced sometimes
It's become the signature of the show, really, and sometimes when she laughs at the very begining I think she's doing it on purpose.

Still, the show would have died in the early days if not for her. She kept it moving and kept it from being a plodding failure.

11. That laugh is her trademark, unfortunately
And I agree, it sounds very insencere at times. But that's just because I can't stand her :P

The show needs her, and I like her!
Without her, Al's show would suck.

10. Glad she's on AAR now (and no longer on MN Public Radio)
I've never liked her. She fits the stereotypical "whiny guilty white liberal" mold way too well. She used to be a columnist at the St Paul, MN, newspaper, and then got a weekday show on Minnesota Public Radio.

For some reason, everybody thought she was just the bees knees. I found her irritating, uninformed and just plain unbearable. I remember calling her show several times, and her whining over the top of me while I tried to make a point that didn't fit her agenda.

AAR can have her-- good riddance.

13. I used to get their show on Sundance and really grew to
appreciate her. Watching them is a little different than listening to them. I really like her.

I understand what you mean about her voice, but it doesn't bother me.
