6. Yep. Made me think of him.
There was this guy in high school who had a Camaro and would take a big bunch of us home every day and he had Sly 8-tracks and I always remember being in a big pile of kids and listening to that on the way home from school.

5. He became addicted to cocaine and burned out
that was as of the mid 90's...haven't heard anything recently..too bad..the guy was a musical master

7. He had major drug problems that pretty much ended his career quite a
while ago. I heard he cleaned up his act a few years ago and was going to start recording again, but then fell back into drugs. Poor guy, he was really a groundbreaker in music. Love his old stuff.

10. The Family Stone was supposed to record again.
Sly wasn't going to though.
I found this out there on the Internets.

In 1993, Sly Stone was inducted to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, however, at the induction ceremony, he was found living in a sheltered-housing complex.

Sad. From what I hear, Sly is pretty far gone and in bad shape mentally. But thats just rumors.
