Well, I'm not doing THAT again

That's the last fucking time I do any threads on Terri Schiavo.
Good GOD this is a fucking ZOO.
It boggles my mind on how we let this issue distract the media, and perhaps ourselves, on the issues that should be given much more attention, IMO.
Some rumours of the draft, for example.
The growing DeLay scandal.
The Iraqi war protest.
Iran war rumblings.
I just can't waste too much energy on Terri- the case is TOTALLY important, but it just seems to me that, like the Michael Jackson trial, the media is running away with it.
I'm not telling people what to post or anything, because that would make me the biggest hypocrite on the planet. But I just wonder how we can get sucked into this, when everyday it looks more and more like an effin' soap opera or something.
I turned the TV on for 5 minutes today and was disgusted. It's nothing but a zoo now, with no real substance or information to gleam from it.

We have them nailed on a couple points here:

1. huge violation of separation of powers

2. hypocrite alerts all over the place
the baby in Texas
health care mess in general
reduced benefits for war vets with brain damage

So I say we push this Shiavo story as far as we can. It's a win win for sensible Democrats.

Where was the fucking outrage over the black infant that had the feeding tube removed??
NONE.
Terri Schiavo's case is a RED HERRING for end of life care- most of us will never have the luxury to be kept alive for as long as she has because it's too expensive. As sad as it is to say that, it's true. End of life care in this country is HORRIBLE, absolutely barbaric in many cases because truly good hospice care is UN AFFORDABLE to most people.

We'll have another yuppie murder to distract the masses while the country is being repeatedly raped by the neocons.

I know it's only temporary though.

I composed my "rant of logical absurdity" and posted it as a thread, then answered comments and a few other misinformed posts in some others.

It is am important thing however, as the pukes in congrass have completely jumped the shark on this one, and I suspect this will be the beginning of the end for a lot of their base.

I haven't even bothered with TV, I *know* what kinda crap is gonna be spewed there.

They don't care about the gov'ment overstepping its limits- they want to see morality enforced- constitution and law be damned!
Maybe that's why I'm so frustrated...

Randall Terry and his wacko followers are already calling *'s debt on this one, and constitutionally, I don't think he can deliver.

Now the real reason it's an important issue if somehow the pukes get the SCOTUS to agree with 'em. Then we have a serious constitutional crisis, as the 10th amendment gets steamrolled.

...how on EARTH can Bush defend EXECUTING mentally challenged criminals and then squawk away on defending Terri who doesn't have a cerebral cortex?
I am losing my mind over the hypocrisy of this situation that has now become, sadly, a political circus.
