1. we usually have a lot of salads...
like potato salad and macaroni salad as well as deviled eggs with ham sandwiches. Nobody in my family likes hot ham so we usually go pretty casual with our Easter dinner.

12. This is close to the recipe I use except
I use almonds instead of pecans. I also use pistachio pudding instead of vanilla and chocolate.

Sex In A Pan

Ingredients :
1 cup flour
1/2 cup butter/margarine
3 oz pecans, chopped
1 (8oz) package cream cheese
1 cup icing sugar
1 tub "Cool Whip" (1 litre)
1 pkg. (4oz) vanilla instant pudding
1 pkg. (4oz) chocolate instant pudding
3 cups cold milk
1 square semi-sweet chocolate, shaved

Instructions :
1) Mix flour, butter and pecans and press into a 7x13-inch pan. Bake at 350 for 25 minutes. Cool.

2) Combine cream cheese and icing sugar and spread over pecan mixture. Spread half of the Cool Whip over the cream cheese layer.

3) Mix package of vanilla pudding using 1-1/2 cups of milk. Spread over Cool Whip. Mix package of chocolate pudding using remaining 1-1/2 cups milk. Spread on top of vanilla pudding. Spread remaining Cool Whip on top and sprinkle with shaved semi-sweet chocolate.

4. If you're making ham, you have to make ham gravy
and if you have ham gravy, you gotta have mashed potatoes.

I'm debating what to make for my easter dinner - I'm torn betweeen the traditional ham, or a nice juicy prime rib. Will probably end up with the ham.

Probably a nice spinach salad, some steamed asparagus, and the mashed potatoes.

I don't think I'll get too complicated or intricate for this one.

8. Sounds easy enough
I always do a very formal dinner on Thanksgiving and Easter
Asparagas for sure. I usually do twice baked mashed potatoes
you mash the potatoes add some dehydrated onions and a block
of philly, beat them high and smooth with you mixer then put them
in a 9X12 casserole and make wells on the top and fill with butter
pats then sprinkle the top with paprika and bake in the over for
about 25 min.

13. Macaroni and Cheese Always goes with ham.
Edited on Mon Mar-21-05 01:23 AM by The empressof all
Whenever I make a ham I make a triple sized pan of Mac and Cheese. It just goes together in my mind. Plus the next day you can chop up some ham and add it to the left over Mac, add a can of Rotel tomatoes and chilies and have yummy, yummy left overs.

Asparagus, Stuffed Artichokes, Biscuits, Ratatouille, and Hot German Potato salad are also on our menu.

Almost forgot: Strawberry short cake made with Angel food cake for a "light" dessert!--or maybe, I'll make trifle--my husband loves that!

14. A little Easter meal trivia
Ham and Sausage (kielbasa) are served (Polish Traditional meal)

All types of pork were forbidden under the dietary code of the Old Testament (Leviticus 11.7). The coming of Christ was seen as exceeding the old law and the dietary items now became acceptable (Mark 7.19).
