3. Thank you!
My house is on a small lot very close to the city and I've had fun gardening and figuring out what works where.

2. Thanks for Posting
After watching C-Span these evening, these pictures are a very
welcome sight. You seem to have a very green thumb. I'm from
Illinois and can't wait till April so I can get out and start
to dig in that dirt again and seeing my perennials come to life again.
Thanks again, your flowers are beautiful.

6. You know, I think working with my flowers
and planning what annuals to put in, what things to grow in containers this summer, seeing what perennials are happy and which ones might need to be moved--all that--keeps me sane.

And the plants really do all the work--I just have to put them where they are happy and then remember to water them a little bit if it doesn't rain.

I'm in central NC and we usually have enough rainfall that I don't have to water too much throughout the spring and summer.

Good luck with your garden this year too!

4. Those Peonies
Are especially stunning. I don't think they grow down here in Texas, at least, I've never seen them down here. :(

7. The heat gets to them here after a little while.
I'm really on the edge of where they will grow--it gets hot in central NC and by mid-July the heat gets them.

In the mountains of NC or in the states where it is a little cooler, they last all summer.

I keep mine in partial shade, under a dogwood tree, and on the north side of my house, so they have some barrier against the summer heat--up to a point, then they die back.

But they are perennial so they come back the next year for a short cycle again!

10. Gorgeous!
Gardening has become my therapy. About this time of the year, my fingers get itchy to get into the dirt. After living in the Midwest for so long, learning to garden here in the "pseudo-desert" (Colorado) is challenging. Learning to Xeriscape is fun and new to me. Last year I planted Purple Coneflower, and it did well for me. Hopefully it will continue to do so. There are plants out here that I've never seen, and some that I've never been able to grow before. Tomatoes however, don't do well. I'm hoping to be able to find one variety that will grow. Nothing beats garden grown tomatoes in the summer!
