I wish my medical care was important.
I have been having symptoms of diabetes for a few months and last month, I had the flu and lost an incredibly large amount of weight. I am teetering on the edge weighing 99 pounds and there has to be someting that is going on, but since it is a "non-emergency" according to my insurance company and I have not collapsed yet(though I feel like I am going to sometimes on a daily basis) I have to wait to even see a doctor until April 29th. No amount of arguing will help this, no amount of begging will either. I have made an appointment with an alternative medicine guru in the meantime.

I just wish my medical care were as important to the government and "right to life" groups as a certain person who shall remain nameless.

1. Join a right to life group and tell them you're a fetus
they'll get you an insulin shot and buy you an SUV

3. lol
that's sad but true. The hypocrisy of this administration never ceases to astound me.

BTW I'm sorry about your medical troubles. Maybe one day America will get with the rest of developed nations and provide health care to ALL of its citizens. What a novel idea!

5. I'm a diabetic, and here are some ways to feel better until
you see the doctor.

Limit your intake of simple carbohydrates. Eliminate white flour, corn, white potatoes and pineapples from your diet. Any other fruits/veggies should be OK, as long as they aren't breaded & deep-fried.

Get 30 minutes of excercise daily (walking is good). This will help control your blood sugar.

Be sure to get enough protein. This will keep your blood sugar level.

You may not be a diabetic, but the above tips will be good for you anyway. Good luck.

6. Have a diabetic friend test your glucose.. If it's high, call your
HMO and tell them to expect to hear from a LAWYER, if you cannot be seen earlier..

That usually shakes loose an appointment.. Play hardball..
