RAPID CITY, S.D. -- A Rapid City man accused of multiple violations for drunken driving over the years was back in court Friday to answer for what authorities believe are his 16th and 17th drunken driving arrests.
Jerry R. Zeller, 64, pleaded innocent to two drunken driving charges stemming from arrests in October and again in February.
Pennington County deputy State's Attorney Kara Wood said last month she found 17 arrests for Zeller, including the two charges he now faces, and nine convictions dating back to the 1970s.
Zeller is due back in court in April for a status hearing. He has been in custody since Feb. 23, when his bond was set at $100,000.
