Anyone have a Creative Labs MP3 player?
I'm in the market for an MP3 player, after my Sony Mini Disc player finally passed away this weekend after more than 3 years of loyal and faithful service. The reason I shy away from an IPod is that it does not play WMA files, of which I have over a thousand. I have read some good things about the Creative Labs Zen MP3 player, and have had great success with Creative in the past, but I would like some real world criticism, if any exists.

1. get an iPod
I had over 10K WMA songs, but iTunes automatically will convert them to ACC format.
Seriously, it's not a hassle.

3. Oh really? ITunes will do that?
Sweet, that I did not know.

2. I have a Jukebox Zen - love it
I've owned the thing for two years now, and have never had any trouble with it.

(Don't let that WMA restriction be the only thing keeping you from an iPod though, if that's what you want. There are plenty of converters you can download -- I've even used one because I've converted most of my on-computer WMAs to MP3 because that's the only format our Tivo can handle.)

Upside: Way less expensive than an iPod. Typically has had better battery life.

Downside: I never liked their controls, and felt the display was too small (both of which have been addressed in newer models).

4. I have an iRiver flash mp3 player
with FM tuner. It doesn't hold as much as iPod, but it's supposed to last longer with batteries than iPod, and I use it for workouts so it's a bit sturdier than iPod. I love it so far.

5. My friend swears by his Zen player
He's a bit of an mp3 player addict and that's his favourite.

Also, the Creative Zen players apparently have better sound quality than the iPod.
