It's been a LONG time since I posted here but....
here is my story.

Back in October from a routine MRI for the growth that they have been watching on my left optic nerve since I was 5 they found another growth near my brain stem. They also believe that this growth is also benign like the growth on my optic nerve. This basically sent me into hysterics anyway.

I went on a Cruise and by the end I was suffering from Daily headaches and morning nausea. This continued throughout November and December. I was already being seen for anxiety and the doctors believed it was just tension and anxiety causing my symptoms. I was in FL at my parents for New Years. New years eve we went out to eat. (I was actually feeling pretty good that day) I got up and almost collapsed and needed to have assistance from another customer with my parents to get to the car. My parent canceled the New Years Eve party and took my to the ER (Second time that trip). I finally had a CT scan performed which found that I have Hydrocephalus (water on the brain). They did not know how to handle me, either admit me down in FL or send me home and hope that I went in to see a Neurosurgeon when I got back. They day after I got back to VA I went in to the ER and was admitted by a (my) Neurosurgeon who diagnosed me with hydrocephalus. The next day I had a VP shunt operation. This basically puts a tube down into the ventricle of the brain. (Requires a small hole to be drilled in the skull) This is then drain into veripernetal cavity (abdomen). The operation just totally knocked me out. I have just recently felt like getting back to my normal activities. Though I did force myself to get back to work at the end of January. Thus working full days for awhile would take a lot out of me so by the time I got home I did not feel like doing anything at all but sleep. I barely felt like signing on to any type of boards. I had an appointment with my NS today and have been totally cleared/. I finally feel like getting back into the gym, and working with out any restrictions!

I felt so bad during most of my recovery I did not feel like even signing on to the computer and reading anything at all. I am just thankful that my account was not terminated.

7. thank you!
I am greatful that my life wasn't terminated also. From what I can guess it was a close call to send me home from FL. I am very greatful for my life today.

4. Welcome back!!
Yeah we're glad your "account was not terminated" too. Is that a euphemism like "buying the farm" or "pushing up daisies"?

5. Is this related to Arnold Chiari malformation?
Or Syringomyelia? Just wondering. Glad that you are okay!

9. No I don't think so.
My Nerusurgeon thinks that I am one of the few cases where a young-middle aged adult aquires Hydrocephalus. It could also be related to my Nerufibromotisis.
