Alert to Spring Break travelers

be wary of Air Jamaica. We flew to Bonaire for diving on the 12th - supposed to return on the 19th. But Air Jamaica is experiencing serious financial problems so many of their flights are being diverted, when possible, to other airlines. Air Jamaica can't adequately maintain their planes, many have been grounded, and fuel prices are high. Curiously, Air Jamaica is still booking flights. We had lots of complications. We had to deboard the plane after it was determined at least 20 seats had been sold twice. Then, we had to find an alternative airline. We ended up flying from Montego Bay to Chicago, then back to Atlanta. Arriving 24-hrs after our original arrival time. Needless to say, our erratic schedule made "selective screening" mandatory. My ob-gyn isn't that thorough.
And our luggage? Well, last we saw it was customs in Montego Bay. There's been absolutely no word since and Air Jamaica isn't answering calls. Plus, both in Chicago and Atlanta, there were no Air Jamaica personnel at the ticket counters. We filed our lost luggage claims through United.
But, hey, the diving in Bonaire was wonderful.
