..for her upcoming birthday. She was also at the concert but left soon afterwards. I was heading back to GOPisEvil's car, which was a block away.

BTW, he has a new album coming out and he's hooked up again with Steve Stevens. The new material was rocking and I'm looking forward to purchasing their latest endeavors!!

I chose to see Sleater-Kinney instead. I stood about 6 feet from Corin, but she was engaged in conversation, so I left her alone.

although I've seen S-K before and I know they have the skillsets to be talented. Maybe they just needed more cowbell that night

I saw the Blind boys of Alabama.... awesome show!

..but also caught Robert Plant the next night but only because I'm a diehard Plant fan. We got their early and I got to listen to this really really great band - The Soundtrack of our Lives. They were fabulous!!!

I tried to get into the Plant show... didn't make it. Damn.... was it good???

All in all, I have to say that SXSW was pretty good this year!

We just got the bracelets and barely made it in to Billy Idol (sometime after his 3rd song). It seems the badges get in first and then the bracelets. SO we went really early for Robert Plant and really enjoyed the 2 acts before hand.

Plant was amazing - he did a couple of LZ songs: No Quarter, Gallows Pole, Bring it on home, When the Levee Breaks, Heartbreaker, Black Dog, That's the Way and very shockingly - Whole Lotta Love (Shockingly because that's such a Jimmy Page song with the guitar solo - but Plants new band is awesome). His new stuff was also excellent. I pretty much gave up on Plant solo work after "Now and Zen" because he was getting too "Popish" in his styling. But his new stuff was very good!!

is pretty important. I didn't have either, I was on a cash basis, I only wanted to go and see a few acts so to me it wasn't worth getting the bracelet. Ofcourse, I missed Plant because of it! The only reason why I got into Idol is because I went waaaaaaaaaaaay early.

Oh well, maybe next year!

Which isn't bad. When you considered that I saw Billy Idol, Robert Plant & Aimee Mann, that pretty much sums up the cost of the 3 bracelets. Plus with a festival like this you never know what good bands you'll find. I left the festival with 3 new bands I've never heard of before and yet I'm probably going to get their albums!
