I watched the last episode of Angel last night (spoilers)
and thought it was okay.

Not great, not NEARLY enough guest stars, which really bummed me out, though the very ending was pretty good for a series finale - though it seemed they really had to wrap things up quickly in the last 3 eps or so.

I was sorry to see the show end, this last season was one of the best. I was SO relieved that they only used Connor lightly and to good effect the last season. I wish Cordy had been there, but her one ep was good.

What'd you think?

1. Pretty good, considering.
I heard via internet rumor that the cancellation came out of the blue and Joss Whedon had to wrap things up pretty quickly. Too bad. I would have liked to see where he was going with the Fred storyline.

2. Yeah, I bet she wasn't originally intended to actually be dead
It was an interesting turn for her and added some more female strength to the show.

I understand that the cancellation came quickly too. I'm guessing that they weren't sure they were canned until the last 3 or 4 episodes. In the commentary to the first episode Joss said that when they started the season they weren't sure if they would ge renewed again, but about 1/2 way through they were confident they would be. Doh!

Still, that puppet episode was the best of the season. I'm still laughing thinking about it.

Also, had Spike not been transported to Angel, the season wouldn't have been nearly as good.

Still, don't you think they could have gotten Buffy or Willow or Giles or Cordy to come back for a last great episode.

I hope there are a few Buffy/Angel movie ideas out there. It'd be cool to see them on the big screen, though I understand Sarah Michelle Ghellar doesn't want to do one for a while. I guess she's still busy with Scooby Doo.
