1. I saw that
are you talking about the newspaper headline? I missed the first few minutes, but saw a newspaper that said "Desparate Search for Missing Housewives"

I'm surprised that was a CBS movie, though. It seemed straight out of USA or the Sci-Fi Channel. Of course, with sci-fi, the sharks would be mutant sharks or have laser beams attached to their heads.

6. it's a joke from Austin Powers...
Dr. Evil wanted to have sharks with laser beams on their heads, and Scott Evil - to impress his father in the 2nd or 3rd movie - put laser beams on the heads of the sharks.

11. Gah! I'm sure there was lots of HIGH DRAMA too
and quality writing/acting.

I knew it! I'll never forgive myself. Maybe they'll release an "uncut" version on DVD someday.

7. I watched about 10 minutes
Just for the eye candy, but then decided it wasn't worth it. I just can't take hokey drama.

9. MY TV GUIDE DIDN'T SHOW IT!!!
my cable company's tv guide listing did not have it on ANY channel last night! i am totally bummed that i missed it. i was going to tape it but could not find it and so watched deadwood and carnivale without re-checking. was it campy enough to be worth watching?

later last night i tried to watch other shows that were listed but everything was skewed and the titles listed weren't playing (i got 'tommy boy' instead of 'twilight zone' . . . i don't think so!)

10. I fell asleep, but it wasn't as bad as it could have been
Anything with a stack o teenagers in all the parts is gonna be bad, but it wasn't awful. It's the first entertainment TV I've seen in a year and what drove me berserk were the ads. I doubt I will be watching network TV or ANOTHER year. I only hooked the TV up to watch hoops, then left it on CBS.
