Do you read documents before you sign them?
(wish I could start a "poll", but am unable to - if someone else would like to start one, please 'feel free').

I am constantly AMAZED (and horrified) to see people signing all sorts of financial, contractural, and other agreements and they don't even bother to 'skim' the thing, forget about actually reading/understanding what they are agreeing to. Someone who they believe 'knows what they're doing' tells them to "sign here" and they DO!

Do you read a document before you sign it? Always, Sometimes, Almost Never, Never.

1. Depends on the document.
If it's something I need to do one way or another and don't really have any recourse to argue, I don't bother reading.

Otherwise, yeah, I read the whole thing.

2. Skimming the document won't save you.
Why read it when you can't make sense of them without a doctorate in law? Why read it when you can't object to it anyway? Why read it when every company or bank has you sign the same photo copied contract?

You say don't sign it? Can you tell me then how to live without a job,a home, a car, a phone, an internet connection, a bank account, etc.. etc .. etc...

3. I agree!
Does everyone read the "I agree" agreements to access some web sites? I don't think so.
