Why is Sarah Silverman so popular around here?

Seriously, I've heard people compare this comedian to artists like Bruce, Pryor, Carlin and Hicks, but the only thing I've observed from her various performances is graceless lewdness. Her timing is about a mile off, and her material is offensive without being incisive. She was tolerable on The Larry Sanders Show, but I suspect that this favorable impression owes more to the sublime writing.

What am I not getting about Silverman? Please don't say "cause she's cute."

Have you ever seen her on the Colin Quinn show (I know it's cancelled now). Every time she was on that show she was very funny (and sorry, she is very cute)
