If You Could Add More States To The Union...

How many would you add, and where would they be?

I would add 10 new states.

I would break up California into three states - the Northern part, the central part and the southern part.

I would break up New York into three states - Manhattan, the Bronx, Staten Island and Brooklyn; Long Island and Queens; and the rest of the state.

I would break up Texas into three states - East, West and Central.

I would break up Florida into two states - North and South.

I would break up Pennsylvania into two states - East and West.

I would break up Ohio into two states - North and South.

And finally, I would add Washington D.C. as a state.

These 10 new states would probably give us 14 new Dem senators and 6 new GOP senators. Returning the balance of power to the cities and major industrial areas.

Shoot, we kicked their ass fair and square. I'm sick of going over there every ten years and whuppin them, might as well teach them about Jesus and how to speak English, than we wouldn't have to worry bout them no more.

Unless you think we should wait for some yellow-belly liberal to get elected and let the place go up for grabs a'gin, until we get attacked again, then elect another Republican to care of business over there.

I like how the Chicago newsmen refer to everything below I-80 as Southern Illinois.
But the best is when I heard DeKalb referred to as Downstate. WTF? Geographically, it's directly west. But no further south.
