Pre-Game Candlelight Vigil for Cub fan.
I can already see the local news reporters staked out around the guy's house, maybe the one sensitive woman who gets in with her camera guy to be with Steve while he watches what could be his last baseball game ever. Maybe Kerry Wood will stop by and pat him on the back, telling him, "Don't worry, buddy. I'm gonna strike out 15 Marlins, just for you." and then the "Good luck," in parting as he forgets that the guy's life is in his hands. The tears rolling down his face, whether it's the Marlins with the suicide squeeze or the Cubs with a grand slam....
And if the Cubs lose, the kissing his family goodbye, the slow stroll out the backdoor...."Dead man walking!"
Oh this is sick but it's just so brutally hilarious for anyone with a satirical sense of humor.
The guy's FATE is now hinged on a frickin' BASEBALL GAME.
It's surreal.

1. Wonder if he'll achieve the same level of notoriety
as the old opener of "Agony and Defeat" on the Wide World of Sports with the ski jumper tumbling down the slope in a flurry of broken skis and limbs?

2. What's Worse
Is that he had to pay over $500 for that ticket.

Anyway, CNN reported that he'll be away from his apartment for a while and called in "sick" to work. I hope he has some good friends.

5. It makes me sick that someone is going through all of this
just for a stupid fucking baseball game. And THIS is what Americans get riled up and agitated over, not that their government has been taken over by Nazis who are destroying the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, not that soldiers are being killed daily in a land that was no threat to us and that we had no business invading in the first place, not that we were lied to in order to get us into the war in the first place, etc., etc., etc., but the fact that an overzealous fan reached for a ball in a fucking BASEBALL GAME and is now considered to be the reason for the Cubs' loss, even though, from all I've heard (I didn't watch because I don't give a flying fuck about sports) it was the team's fault and not the fan's.

6. Well, just to be fair...
If Alou had caught the ball, the Cubs could very well have won the game.
So, maybe they SHOULD kill him.
:silly:

7. Heck, he is no doubt out looking for new digs (in another state)
to remain 'nameless' at the moment

But if the cubs win, it will be all the sweeter...and this guy will be a PR hero for bringing all eyes on baseball.

I don't even watch baseball, and I will be watching THIS game!
