Jerry Falwell on ESPN!
Edited on Tue Mar-22-05 10:59 PM by ktowntennesseedem
His Liberty University women's basketball team just won a second-round upset to go to the sweet-16. I was waiting to watch the Tennessee-Purdue game and they cut away for the end of the Liberty game. Several times the camera showed a smiling Jerry Falwell as the final minutes wound down.

I should NOT have to see Falwell on ESPN!

3. Does Liberty have any Sistahs on the team
Somehow, I doubt it. Makes me wonder how they got this far.

7. Yeah, they do.
In fact, tape over the Liberty name on the jerseys and you'd never know you were watching Jerry's kids. He's gone a built a big school with a growing athletic program; we might have to endure more of him on sports programing down the road. God I hope not, but a heads-up just in case!

14. My apologies to Jerry LEWIS' kids.
Didn't mean to offend any of you by associating you with Falwell.

...but I would love to see Pat Summitt put the wood to Jerry's little madrassah/diploma mill.

8. Hell, I would just like to see Pat Summitt pop Jerry in the head.
One look from Our Lady of the Ice would melt him into the butterball he is.

Go Vols!

9. I bleed orange; everyone in Knoxville does.
But unfortunately Liberty is playing in the Chattanooga regional, facing #1 seed LSU next (bye-bye, Jerry!). So we won't get to stick it to Jerry this time around.

But that's fine by me, because Pat is just a few minutes away from a new all-time win record for NCAA basketball, breaking UNC's Dean Smith record. 880 and counting!

16. My bad....
...I haven't been paying very close attention to the women's tourney.

But I still want Liberty to get their butts kicked.

6. You mean they let the women play sports at Liberty?
Somehow, I wouldn't have imagined them allowing women to dress in anything but skirts below-the-knee, trouser stockings, high-collared blouses and penafores.

11. Jerry's Kids
Well looks like his school is going to get attention. Great. Maybe his mascot can be a snakehandler or inbred cousin married bigot.

17. They cut away from the game in which Pat Summit became the NCAA's
number one winning coach so that they could show the end of a Liberty University game? :eyes:

18. WOW! Reverend Moon's money is finally paying off
The Times also reported that when Reverend Jerry Falwell’s university faced bankruptcy, Moon’s group bailed it out with millions of dollars in loans and grants.
