2. I'd move if I were him
The problem now is if the Cubs players will focus on what might have been, instead of just knuckling down and realizing they've outplayed the Marlins, and just need to keep doing that and they'll win.

3. I say move to Miami
That would be his best bet. It's possible he'll get strung up in Chicago. Then again, some zealous fans might follow him down there. Maybe Sweden is the best idea. He's probably less likely to get lynched as a woman.

7. He should ask the Cubs why they lost 4 games when he only went to one.
Sheesshh, if the Cubs blow a 3-1 series lead, they have no one to blame but themselves.

12. EXACTLY!
It's called 'choking', something of an art form, as practiced by the Cubs. :P:thumbsup:

9. There's one more cruel twist of fate waiting them tonight.
Fate is nowhere near done with them. Last night was just a prelude.

Disclaimer - I'm neither a Cubs nor a Marlins fan and I will be rooting for the Cubs tonight.

This reminds me of the great scene in Lawrence of Arabia when Lawrence goes back into the desert to rescue the guy who fell off his camel. Anthony Quinn tells him not to bother as the guy's death has already been written. Lawrence goes back and saves him only to execute him the following day for murdering someone.

Anthony Quinn then comes up to Lawrence and tells him, "I told you it was written." - the same applies to the Cubs.

14. Too bad, it's only a game, and probably his life is in danger now!
Really, it wasn't his fault. The Cubs should have won regardless.

15. "Outed"
Old news.

New news: DU-ers are mean-spirited and take great pleasure in another's problems, even to the extent of willfully NOT GETTING IT (i.e., it's not the poor guy's fault).

Discuss.

17. Most of us aren't
Most us understand it is not the guy's fault and I feel for him but if I was him I would move on, his life is not over with.

20. DUers may be showing too little faith in the tolerance of Cubs fans and
Chicagolanders, but you are jumping to conclusions if you infer that we as a group are either mean-spirited or wish this man ill. I'm seeing many more say just what you did (that it's not the guy's fault) and worrying about his welfare.

16. What should he do?
He should live his life, and those who don't have lives and believe that they must harass him in order to feel superior should either get lives or leave town themselves.

The guy made a mistake. It could happen anywhere, and it could happen to many of the people who are all fired up about this. For my money, what he did was nothing compared to what's transpired since then.

Go Cubs!
